CONTROL
We are in control of our own thoughts. That was sure a new one on me!!!! I had always been a thinker and thought about whatever came to mind in response to what I was looking at/focusing on at the time.
This is wonderful if the thing I am focusing on is something I like, something that makes me feel good, something that brings me pleasure. More often though, as a compassionate sensitive person with (unbeknown to me) fantastic focus, I would look at the injustice in the world, and feel bad about it, and feel helpless and powerless and overwhelmed by the volume of wrong doing in the world and feel depressed, I therefore attracted experiences which matched this vibration – ones where I felt helpless, powerless, and overwhelmed. I did not understand that I was attracting these experiences by the vibration I was offering.
Time to learn a new skill:
Controlling our own thoughts.
There is a phenomenal amount of ‘stuff’ in the world over which we seemingly have no control. There is one thing we do have complete control over (though it may take a little effort and practise,) our thoughts.
By consciously choosing our thoughts we can affect how we feel. However we are feeling, there is always a better feeling thought.
It is natural for us to feel good and if we feel anything less than good it is always because we are thinking a thought which leads us to feel bad. If we can stop all thought, we naturally begin to feel better (this is why meditation is so good.)
If we notice we are feeling anything less than good, we can choose a thought which feels better. It may be that we choose to think of a different subject altogether, one which pleases us, or we may choose (particularly if it is an area/topic/subject that keeps coming up) to think soothing thoughts on the same subject, thoughts which make us feel better. For example:
• I am late again, I am so unreliable, they won’t take me seriously after this. – feels bad
• I’m not the only person in the world who is often late. – feels marginally better
• I do work extremely hard when I am there. – feels a bit better
• I usually stay on later than I need to. – feels a bit better
• They actually get extremely good value from me- feels a lot better
• I know they value me highly, and appreciate everything I have offered. – feels good
Each time we do this process on a particular area /topic/subject, we change our vibrational set point for ever. Our vibrational set point is the general vibration we give off on a particular subject.
In the above example my vibrational set point has to be that of someone who is sometimes/often late for work and feels bad about it. The vibrational set point I would be hoping to reach on this topic is the vibration of someone who always arrives at appointments in good time in a relaxed fashion. (Remember we always experience a match to what we are offering vibrationally.) To get from where I am to where I want to be means I need to soothe my feeling around this subject. It may take one time of doing the above exercise, it may take one hundred times, either way, by doing the exercise I have shifted my set point forward and it can never again go back to where it was before I did it.
Everything we are trying to achieve whether it be a condition, a trait, a relationship, a career, an object, an experience, any desire is 99.99999% manifested before we see any physical sign of it. Remembering that can help us to keep our focus on what we are wanting rather than what we are experiencing. When we give our focus to what is/was – we get more of it (regardless if it's something we want more of or not.) When we give our focus to what we want – we create it (what we want) in our experience.
This is why, those of us who want to create a wonderful life for ourselves, need to take control of our thoughts and our focus – to make a point of thinking about, and focusing on the things we are wanting, rather than the things we are not wanting.
Some may wonder why we would control our thoughts to let ourselves of the hook for bad behaviour??? The answer is simple, if we feel bad, we attract experiences which feel bad, if we feel better we attract experiences which feel better, when we feel good, we attract experiences which feel good.
We become truly empowered when we realise that it is control of our own thoughts that leads us to a life of freedom and joy, rather than attempting to change and control circumstances or other people and their behaviour.
You can take responsibility for controlling your own thoughts, and allow others to be as they be.
